Methodology
Evidence should remain inspectable.
This is a launch-stage methodology statement. The live web scanner, validation methods, visibility controls, and correction process are in development; the sample receipt is illustrative only.
Evidence categories
Buyrity’s demonstration materials group review wording, timing, rating patterns, possible duplicate phrasing, seller context, pricing context, and the consistency of listed claims with the available evidence.
Data coverage
Coverage depends on what a supported listing makes available. A receipt should state which sources and time periods were included, and what could not be inspected. The current site shows sample data only.
Evidence concern calibration
An Evidence Concern Level is intended to describe the strength and combination of available, aggregate warning signals—not product quality, safety, fraud, or whether a product, seller, or reviewer has done something wrong. Calibration methods are in development and must be evaluated over time and by category.
Uncertainty and limitations
Signals can be incomplete, context-dependent, biased by available data, or wrong. Buyrity does not independently verify product safety, regulatory compliance, fraud, seller identity, or the truth of every claim.
Challenges and corrections
Challenge and correction workflows are planned for early access. When available, they will let people provide context or point out errors for review; they will not promise automatic changes or adjudicate legal disputes.
Why not label individual reviews fake
A model probability or pattern alone cannot prove an individual reviewer’s experience was fabricated. Buyrity therefore focuses on aggregate, explainable signals and uncertainty instead of definitive labels about individual reviews.
Buyrity identifies suspicious patterns and decision risks. It does not independently prove fraud, product safety, regulatory compliance, or seller misconduct.
